About

A Himalayan school with a global purpose

Natural Sound Healing International School was founded in 2011 in Kathmandu, Nepal by Grand Master Akash Banjara. We teach authentic Himalayan sound healing — bringing professional education, holistic wellbeing and community service together in one school.

Our story

The school grew out of a simple conviction: that Himalayan sound healing deserves to be taught properly — in a structured way, by people who carry the tradition, and with honesty about what the practice is and is not.

Since 2011, that has meant a certification pathway for practitioners, healing experiences and retreats for anyone drawn to the work, wellbeing programmes with institutions across Nepal, and an international community connected back to Kathmandu.

Our work rests on respect for the tradition: knowledge becomes practice, practice builds confidence, and confidence is guided by responsibility.

What guides us

Six values

They are not a poster on the wall — they decide how courses are taught and how sessions are held.

Authenticity

The practice is taught as it was received — from the Himalayan tradition, not a diluted version of it.

Integrity

We are honest about what sound healing is, what it supports, and what it does not replace.

Compassion

Every student, guest and community we work with is met with patience and care.

Discipline

Real skill comes from practised, structured work — not shortcuts.

Inclusion

The practice is for everyone, and we work to keep it accessible.

Service

Giving back through community work is part of the practice, not separate from it.
